Mr. Wassel is the Executive Director Strategy Office for the Florida Division of Adventist Health System and Managing Director, IQ Orlando. With more than 2,100 beds, the nine-hospital system serves the Central Florida community and is the largest subsidiary of Adventist Health System in the country. Florida Hospital admits more patients annually than any other hospital in the U.S. and is the largest provider of Medicare services. 
Mr. Wassel has been with Florida Hospital for 18 years and has served in various leadership capacities during that time with special emphasis in strategy, corporate development and new venture roles. He was instrumental in the development and successful launch of the Florida Hospital Celebration Health Medical Group and Florida  Hospital Celebration Health, a state-of-the-future hospital that opened in 1998 in the Walt Disney Company's community of Celebration. He also developed Florida Hospital's first national executive health program in 1999 which now serves the senior executive teams of many Fortune 500 companies. 
In 2003, Mr. Wassel accepted the role as Executive Director for Florida Hospital's Strategic Venture Group (SVG) which develops corporate alliances with the country's leading medical device, biotech, pharmaceutical, life science and health IT companies. The SVG works with global industry leaders' executive teams to develop new strategic initiatives around innovation, research and development, education and training, and new business development activities. 
After leading the SVG for four years, Mr. Wassel then moved into the Administrator role for the Nicholson Center (FHNC), Florida Hospital's global training, education, research and development institute. The Nicholson Center develops, incubates and accelerates next generation  technology, knowledge and techniques to the global community through  various types of training and education initiatives. The FHNC has trained over 50,000 clinical learners globally since 2001. 
Mr. Wassel majored in Finance and graduated from the University of Central Florida with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration as well as from Rollins College's Political Leadership Institute. He is actively involved in various community groups including BioFlorida, the National Center for Simulation's Medical Simulation Group, the Orange County Community Advisory Board for the University of Central Florida's Department of Health Management and Informatics, the Orange County Mayor's Blue Ribbon Commission on Modeling, Simulation and Training, and AirTeam Orlando. He is a Board Member of the Florida Angel Nexus (FAN) and served on the Healthcare Advisory Board and the Science and High Tech Advisory Board for Florida's Eighth Congressional District.
